Essex, My Essex

Like the writer, Ian Sansom, whose documentary Essex, My Essex recently aired on Radio 4, our Outreach Fellow, Dr Jamie Castell, is back on home territory. Today he visits both the Ormiston Rivers Academy in Burnham (pictured) and the Plume School in Maldon, hoping to dispel some of the stereotypes associated with Oxford. Jamie won’t be following Ian to the Sugar Hut in Brentwood (of TOWIE fame) but he was impressed that both the ‘Essex girls’ Ian interviewed there had been to university and that one had a Masters.
