College chef climbs Kilimanjaro for charity

Our acting head chef Ben Gibbons has taken on a charitable challenge: to climb all 5,895 metres of Mount Kilimanjaro in September 2016.

Interviewed in today’s Oxford Mail, Ben said: “I am extremely lucky to be able to do something I love, which is why I think it’s about time for me to be taken out of my comfort zone and thrown into the heart of Africa.”

He has raised £3,900 for Helen and Douglas House, and is still accepting donations on his JustGiving page. His fundraising efforts include hosting a three-course meal in Hertford’s Hall on 12 March.
