Helen Alexander 1957-2017

“It is with huge sadness that we report the death of Dame Helen Alexander, Honorary Fellow of Hertford, former chair of our Remuneration Committee, and great friend of the College (Geography, 1975). A former Chief Executive of the Economist group and first woman President of the CBI, she had a distinguished career – including being awarded the Legion d’Honneur – but we will also remember her for her love of the College and her fellow geographers, her willingness to serve and her all-round sense of engagement with Hertford. Our enormous condolences to her family.”
