Stefanie Burkert-Burrows
College Lecturer in German
Originally from Southern Germany, Stefanie studied German and Theology at the University of Eichstätt. She then came to Oxford as a graduate student to St Edmund Hall where she specialised in the area of Medieval German Mysticism and completed her MSt in Research Methods in Modern Foreign Languages in 1998 and her Staatsexamen in Germany in 1999. In the following years, she taught German in the contexts of Secondary School and Adult Education near Manchester, before returning to Oxford in 2013.
Since 2013, Stefanie has been teaching Translation into German and German grammar. She now teaches German language at Hertford College, in addition to a number of other colleges in the University.
She also offers tutorials to visiting students of different levels of German and lessons in business German.
