Originally from Germany, Dr Boneva graduated from the University of Mannheim with distinction before moving to Cambridge where she studied for an MPhil and later PhD in Economics. Her research focuses on Applied Microeconomics and Labour Economics, with additional interests in Behavioural and Experimental Economics. She is currently investigating the role of beliefs in educational investment decisions and the role of educational interventions in fostering skills in childhood. She joined Hertford in 2018 as an Associate Professor and Tutor in Economics, having been a post-doctoral research fellow at University College, London.
