Prof. Lauder studied mathematics at the Universities of Glasgow and London before coming to Oxford. He has been a tutorial fellow at Hertford College since 2003.
Dr Lauder teaches undergraduate tutorials across mathematics within college, and also lectures in the university, both for core courses in the first two years and more specialised options in number theory later on.
Dr Lauder supervises research students in number theory on the masters and doctoral programmes.
Dr Lauder’s research is in computational number theory, with a present focus on problems related to elliptic curves and modular forms.
