Sun, sea and sampling sediments

Follow Hertford student Brooke Johnson as he conducts fieldwork for his DPhil in Environmental Research in Australia’s Northern Territory.
Brooke, along with his supervisor Dr Rosalie Tostevin of St Edmund Hall, is investigating an apparent biological and environmental pause in the rock record from around a billion years ago, working at the Northern Territories Geological Survey (NTGS) core store in Darwin.
Over on the ‘Changing the Climate Blog’ – run by a group of PhD students studying climate and the environment – you can track Brooke’s progress. He’s currently on blog post number four and is soaking up the sun in Sydney: ‘Cyclones, Sea and Sampling Sediments IV: The Sights and Sediments of Sydney’.
