Shakespeare 400
4 December 2015
If you want to get ahead of next year’s 2016 Shakespeare-fest, Hertford fellow Emma Smith has a couple of suggestions.
For the parsimonious, look at OUP’s new Illuminating Shakespeare site, which will release new video and blog content on a series of Shakespearean themes along with selections of recently published material to deepen your understanding of the plays (Emma has been the academic consultant on this project). For the spendthrift, try her new book The Making of Shakespeare’s First Folio, an account of the first collected edition of Shakespeare’s plays and about what we can learn from it about the playwright and his world.
