Law Prizes for BCL students
9 October 2013
Hertford is pleased to announce its recent success in the BCL (Bachelor of Civil Law) examinations. Shanaka Jayasuriya was awarded the prize for the highest marks in Roman Law (Delict) and Ciar McAndrew was awarded the prize for the highest marks in Comparative Public Law. Both Shanaka and Ciar studied at Hertford for their undergraduate degree in law. Shanaka obtained a First in Jurisprudence in 2009 and qualified as a solicitor before returning to study for the BCL. He has now returned to Sydney, Australia where he is currently a clerk at the Australian High Court. Ciar graduated with a First in Law with Studies in Europe in 2011. She is hoping to obtain experience working for non-governmental organisations for a year before either pursuing a career at the Bar or as an academic. We wish them both every success for the future.
