Hertford team wins Inter-Collegiate Quiz President’s Trophy

After entering the Inter-Collegiate Quiz as the first Hertford team since 2001, the team composed of Alexander Bubb, Henry Fisher, Rory Hill and Erica Lombard were presented the President’s Trophy.

This trophy is bestowed on the team that shows the utmost sportsmanship and is considered to have best embodied the spirit of the tournament. The Quiz Society President praised the Hertford team for coming out of the blue and putting on a fine show without the aid of any collegiate tradition or precedent. Unfortunately it seems that the previous Hertford team left in the first round of the 2001 Inter-Collegiate Quiz after losing all three of their group matches.

The 2012 team fared much better, but were unfortunately knocked out of the quarter-finals by the number two seeded team. Nonetheless, hopes are high for next year’s tournament.
