Cricket cuppers victory
2 November 2016
The news of Hertford’s first known victory in the intercollegiate cuppers cricket tournament is no less exciting for being a few months old. Captain Matthew Edwards writes:
The cuppers final was against Worcester at University Parks on the 13rd of June, Hertford batted first and scored 133/7, Â with the highest scorer being Bhavya Bishnoi. Worcester were very close to the run rate throughout their innings, but we managed to hold off, winning by 5 runs. The cricket team are very proud of this achievement since in the space of three years we have gone from playing in the bottom division of college cricket to winning cuppers and finishing second in the first division, this year was also the first time in over 10 years Hertford have won a single game in cuppers, never mind the competition.
Congratulations to the winning team, pictured below.
