Hertford evidence in US Congressional Committee
23 May 2019
If you were following the US Congress’s Subcommittee on Water, Oceans, and Wildlife hearing this week, you may have heard evidence citing Hertford’s own Clive Hambler.
Clive, who is our Organising Tutor and College Lecturer in Human Sciences, made an assessment of the latest report from IPBES, the UN-backed Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services. The report, published this month, found that humans are driving up to a million species to extinction, with agriculture cited as one of the biggest threats to biodiversity.
In the Water, Oceans, and Wildlife Oversight Hearing, Clive’s assessment of the report was cited as evidence. Check out the podcast available from Congress to hear what was said.
