Chinese Academy of Sciences visits Hertford

Hertford received a visit today from a delegation from the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). The group have been visiting Oxford, Cambridge and Imperial to gather ideas for the architecture of their new medical school campus.

Hertford alumnus Professor George Gao (1991) will be the Dean of the new medical school, and commented that plans for the new building may include a familiar-looking bridge…

Professor Martin Maiden said:

It is always a great pleasure to entertain our former students in Hertford and we are especially pleased that Professor Gao continues his association with Hertford, which may even extend to his new medical sciences building including a bridge!  The are many other, more academic, synergies that we discussed, which will hopefully bear fruit in the future.  We hope that he and his colleagues enjoyed the visit as much as we did and we wish them all the best for their new medical school.
