Hertford Pet Gallery

Home / Hertford Pet Gallery
Klaus. Pet parent: Nikki Gosling (Porter). Klaus is a Labrador who is just under two years old and was re homed to our home about 8 months ago. He loves to chase the ball and long walks.
Coco. Pet parent: Nikki Gosling (Porter). Coco the springer spaniel is four years old and he has lots of long hair. He loves to follow a fresh scent when out walking and chases a ball but does not bring it back!
Leeloo. Pet parent: Alice Roques (Librarian). Leeloo likes Dreamies, chasing string and sleeping on laptops. She does not like baths

Brown and speckled. Pet parent: Simon Robinson (Head of Catering Services). Brown is a battery rescue- when she arrived 2 years ago she had never seen rain! She thought it very strange. She’s just completed her first full moult- all her feathers are back. Speckled was bought from a local supplier 2 years ago- constantly eats everything- garden snails/ flowers/ expensive pot plants. I suspect she’d taste really good for Sunday roast but that would be like cannibalism of a member the the family. Cats are totally afraid of the chickens.
Mr and Mrs Cat. Pet parent: Simon Robinson (Head of Catering Services). Mr Cat and Mrs Cat- brother and sister- both 16 years old. Mr Cat is the world’s most beautiful cat- very soft/ loves cuddles constantly/ reads Greek epic poems in his spare time- got a first in classics from Corpus. Mrs Cat- deaf as a post! Never went to school- more select in everything she does. Loves fireworks.
Pukis. Pet parent: Zita Alisauskiene (Acting Housekeeper).

Fitzwilliam. Pet parent: Charlotte Malins (Events and Conferencing Coordinator). Fitzwilliam is otherwise known as Fitzy or Fluff or Bad Fitzwilliam when he is trying to steal stuff from plates or the fridge or bins. In our previous house he would break into the neighbours house (walk in through the front or back door) and steal food off their kitchen counter if they left it out. Took them a while to work out how food was disappearing, but he got caught stealing left-over chicken thighs from a pan on the counter.
Flo. Pet parent: Chris Gillham (Clerk of Works). Florance (Flo) is 3 and ¾’s, she loves nothing more than chasing her favourite blue ball around the garden and being the centre of attention.
Brendan. Pet parent: Chris Gillham (Clerk of Works). Brendan is 4 and ¾’s, he loves a chin scratch but is very much a Bulldog when it comes to walks.. Sometimes he will, sometimes he won’t!

Gerty. Pet parent: Emilie Walton (HR Manager). Norman and Gerty are brother and sister. They are two years old and were adopted from the RSPCA as kittens. Gerty is a little chatty diva that likes to stand on my face at 3am to let me know it breakfast time.
Norman. Pet parent: Emilie Walton (HR Manager). Norman is known as Nobby-Norman, he likes to bring live mice and birds in from the fields and let them go in the house, daily!
Twiglet and Molly-Moo. Pet parent: Emilie Walton (HR Manager). Twiglet, aka Twiglet-Piglet/Twiggy, is nearly 9 years old. Pure beagle, she will sniff out a snack a mile away. She likes ripping up cardboard and rolling in sand. Molly-Moo, aka Moo-Moo, is 3 years old. Also pure beagle, she likes to howl at everything and nothing. Also likes snacks and playing bitey-face with cat brother Norman, who isn’t quite sure how the game works.

Shade. Pet parent: Eve Kilmartin (Engineering Science). Shade loves to participate in online lessons.
Patch and Nellie. Pet parent: Eve Kilmartin (Engineering Science). Patch has the personality of an old man. Nellie loves getting involved in everything.
Taffy. Pet parent: Eve Kilmartin (Engineering Science). Taffy is a border collie. This photo is the only time he has willingly sat down on a walk.

Milly. Pet parent: Frances Wheare (Director of Development). Milly likes following her humans around the house, jumping on your lap as soon as you’ve sat down, rolling around on her back, and going outside when it’s raining. She particularly enjoys rolling around in the garden and frequently has bits of plants stuck to herself.
Jojo. Pet Parent: Frances Wheare (Director of Development.). Jojo likes tummy rubs and chin tickles, eating, asking for food, and trying to steal her sister’s food. She once was discovered eating a piece of Battenberg cake that she had liberated from the kitchen counter; she has no regrets.
Bailey. Pet parent: Evie Brenkley (3rd year Music). Bailey is a jackapoodle, has just celebrated her 10th birthday! Fiercely attached to tennis balls, and enjoys helping with jigsaws, chewing cardboard boxes, and doing the happy wiggles when she meets you.

Eric. Pet parent: Jane Corrigan (Student Welfare Lead). Eric is a ten-year old agoraphobic budgie who lives in an enormous parrot cage which he flatly refuses to leave. He did that once and ended up stuck in a vase. We thought he would pine for his departed cage pal Ernie, but he’s loving life and specialises in ear-crushing screeching at blackbirds.
Gwyn. Pet parent: Jane Corrigan (Student Welfare Lead). Gwyn is always on the lookout for squirrels to chase and socks to steal.
Ned. Pet parent: Nell Miles (4th year MBiol). Ned is a 15-year-old border/Lakeland terrier cross. He’s a grumpy old man, and the thing he loves most in the world is a large plant pot in our front garden which he guards and barks if you come close to it!

Fripoune. Pet parent: Charlotte Martin (Modern Languages and Political Sciences). Fripoune is the only cat I know that lies on its back (yes, exactly like a dog!) to have its belly stroked. She also loves jamming her snout into people’s armpit!
Jack and Harry. Pet parent: Amelia Landry (MSc Nature, Society, and Environmental Governance). Jack and Harry are rescues and Maine Coone mixes. Jack is 4 1/2 years old and loves to be brushed and sleep all day in hidden corners. Harry is 1 1/2 years old and loves to cuddle with his dad and break into the treat bag.
