Give to student support

Students visiting Hertford on our STEM access day

What your gift can achieve

In July 2014, a team of Hertford cyclists powered their way from Hertford's Bridge of Sighs to its Venetian namesake, raising more than £340,000 for student support. The following year, 50 cyclists pedalled from Morecambe in Lancashire to Robin Hood’s Bay in Yorkshire, raising over £120,000 for the same cause.

These donations allowed us to make a real difference to our student support activities:

  • Bursaries - every year we spend over £100,000 on student bursaries for over 100 students. Your donations to student support allow us to fund this essential grant
  • Hardship grants - we've doubled the funds available for hardship grants, to support students who find themselves unexpectedly in financial difficulty for reasons beyond their control
  • Scholarships - we're now able to offer 12 extra scholarships over the next two years to support further study
  • Outreach - we've doubled the funds available for outreach activities, which means we can now reach more students with school visits, 'taster days', and specialist study days over the summer
