Information for Offer Holders

Congratulations on receiving your offer of a place starting October 2017.  We do hope you will choose to accept it!

Fees and Funding

All offer holders for 2017 should have received a Financial Declaration Form.  This form must be completed and returned to the Admissions Officer by 30 June 2017.  If you have not received this form, please contact Lisa Hartwright on undergraduate [dot] admissions [at] hertford [dot] ox [dot] ac [dot] uk as soon as possible. 

If you intend to apply for financial support we strongly recommend that you make this application as early as possible. All the information you will require can be found in the booklet which was sent to you with your offer letter.

Dates for your diary

Friday 30 June

  • Deadline for submitting your completed Financial Declaration and supporting documentation. 

Thursday 17 August

  • A Level Results Day and deadline for receipt of transcripts from candidates sitting non-standard qualifications in this academic year (i.e. another other than A level, IB, Pre-U, SIPCAL).   This also includes proof of proficiency from candidates holding offers conditional on fulfilment of the university’s English language requirements.  More information on acceptable English language qualifications can be found here

Monday 21 August

  • Hertford College Office will send out Fresher Packs by email to those who have successfully met the conditions of their offer.  It is essential that you read all information carefully, as you will be asked to print off and complete various documents, which must quickly be returned to college.  Letters will also be sent out from 'college parents’. 

Tuesday 3 October

  • All undergraduate freshers to arrive at college.  All students are given a time slot in which to arrive at college and you will be notified of your time once your place is confirmed in August.  International students can only arrive prior to this date by prior arrangement with the Accommodation Officer, Charlotte Malins, who can be reached on accommodation [at] hertford [dot] ox [dot] ac [dot] uk 

For term dates for the duration of your course, please see the university website.  Please note, however, that in Michaelmas Term freshers are expected to arrive on Tuesday 3 October, and are required to depart by 10.00am on Saturday 2 December 2017. In subsequent terms students are required to be back in residence by 12 noon on the Thursday prior to the start of term. 

Reading Lists

Not all subjects send out reading lists.  Of those that do, the majority are sent out once places are confirmed in August.  If your subject has a reading list, it will be sent to you by email. Please do not worry if you do not receive a reading list. 

Visas and CAS requests

If you know you will require a Tier 4 student visa for your studies in the UK, please look out for important emails from the college and from the Student Immigration Team over the coming weeks.  It is important that you email a colour copy of your passport in good time, so the process is not delayed.  Please email this to Lisa Hartwright on undergraduate [dot] admissions [at] hertford [dot] ox [dot] ac [dot] uk 

CAS requests are not processed until your place becomes unconditional (i.e. you meet all the conditions of your offer).  Please see the university website here for further information on visas and immigration. 

Student Accommodation

Fresher undergraduates are allocated accommodation automatically, so there is nothing you need to do in order to secure your room, it will be ready for you when you arrive in October.
