Archith Kamath
Fifth-year Medicine student
Life at clinical school presents a world of opportunity to explore your interests within medicine, and Hertford College and its tutors are always keen and willing to support you in doing so. In my fourth year (first clinical year), I took part in a study module in global surgery, with a focus on frugal surgical innovations in low- and middle-income countries, supervised by a Hertford alumna whom I met at a college dinner (Miss Roba Khundkar). My work was chosen for presentation at a conference in Leeds, and my abstract is due to be published in the Tropical Doctor Journal. Hertford’s Vaughan Williams fund generously sponsored my printing, travel, and attendance costs, which allowed me to focus on the conference itself and make the most of this wonderful opportunity to showcase my work and meet like-minded individuals.
