Applying with a disability
The College is committed to using its best endeavours to ensure that all of its activities are governed by principles of equality of opportunity, and that all students are helped to achieve their full academic potential whether they have a disability or not.
Potential applicants and current students are encouraged to disclose disabilities and engage in collaborative and timely assessment of their support needs. Our in-house Welfare Team and College Admissions Office are available if you have further questions (undergraduate [dot] admissions [at] hertford [dot] ox [dot] ac [dot] uk, graduate [dot] admissions [at] hertford [dot] ox [dot] ac [dot] uk).
Here is a message from a current student about applying with a disability.
The University and College provide a very high quality of support for students with disabilities including generous funding. Further information can be found at the Disability Advisory Service
If you are visiting the College and have accessibility requirements, the following may be helpful:
The College is located on a multi-level site and access to the main College site/Old Quad is available via a ramp.
Portable ramps are available to enable access into ground floor rooms and the College Chapel. Currently there are no lifts provided in the College and the Dining Hall is accessed via a steep staircase.
Assistance and/or advice for visitors with disabilities can be sought from the Porters' Lodge.
There is an accessible lavatory in the Old Quad, reached via a short stair lift. The Porters will provide a key and assistance with its use.
There is a hearing loop in the College Dining Hall.
