The Lion King – Circle of Life
I would start my day with the Broadway cast recording of Circle of Life. No, I don’t know the proper lyrics but that doesn’t stop me impromptu belting this (well, my version) out on the regular – no music needed. What better way to start the day, especially as the sun rises!
-
Adele – Rolling in the Deep
As I am not a morning person I would need another song to wake me up/energize me, so next up would be Rolling in the Deep by Adele, which I cannot hear without singing at the top of my lungs (badly of course).
-
The Noisettes – When You Were Young
I would stretch my legs with a walk around the Island, enjoying a cover of When You Were Young by The Noisettes. I just love this cover as there is something so peaceful yet strong about it.

Tim McGraw – Live Like You Were Dying
My Canadian country routes come out here, taking in the beautiful island scenery with Live Like You Were Dying by Tim McGraw. The lyrics paint a sad story turned into a beautiful message which would remind me to live life to the fullest whilst also reminding me of my family (who raised me on country music).

The Piano Guys – Someone You Loved
I am sure on the island I would have plenty of free time for some mindfulness activities (I will be honest – I fall asleep in meditation sessions so prefer mindfulness exercises). I really like instrumental covers (especially string instruments) of pop music and my current favourite, although often changing, is Someone You Loved by The Piano Guys.

Lana Del Rey vs Cedric Gervais – Summertime Sadness Remix
I love a good solo dance party, and would probably start off with one from ‘back in the day’ as I could picture dancing with my friends. You can’t go wrong with a summer one on an island like Summertime Sadness Remix by Lana Del Rey vs Cedric Gervais.
-
Lumidee vs Fatman Scoop – Dance
As I can’t have just one song for my solo dance ‘party’ next would have to be a remix of Whitney Houston’s I Wanna Dance With Somebody – a classic with some extra umph for dancing!
-
Daniel Jang – Can’t Help Falling In Love
I would finish my day with the violin cover of Can’t Help Falling In Love by Daniel Jang. This song has a lot of sentimental value for me, and as already mentioned I am a sucker for a string instrument cover of my favourite songs, so what better way to end my day watching the sunset and dozing off to this?
