Wellbeing in Downing Street
22 January 2016
Great work by the Hertford Business and Economics Society, and undergraduate-led group of mostly PPE and E&M students, who have been advising the Cabinet Office on the role of wellbeing in government policy.
You can download and read their report online: ‘The Implications of Wellbeing Research on Government Policy’. Ewen McKinnon commented that:
there has been some debate about how universities teach economics post-financial crisis and about getting new economic approaches like wellbeing into curriculums. It really is great to see the interest and commitment to studying this and that new economists will be leaving university well-versed in wellbeing science.
This project is the latest in a series of HBES assignments for a range of organisations including Barclays and British Gas. Photo shows HBES students. From left to right: William Barnes, Olivia Shillabeer, Kim Engel and David Cartwright.
