Fear the Deer
20 December 2012
Simon Lloyd, Hertford’s Bursar since 2008 and an alumnus of the college, spoke warmly of the college staff at his farewell today, commending to us the boat club motto, ‘Fear the Deer’ (or perhaps, in true bursarial fashion, he meant ‘Fear the Dear’). Â Simon leaves the college in a much more secure financial position than he found us, and has been instrumental in providing the platform for the college to develop its academic ambitions: he has our deep gratitude for all he has done.
Simon has taken up the role of Development Director at the Royal Forestry Society, and begins his fundraising efforts there with an appreciative donation from colleagues. His successor, James Lazarus, will take up his position in the new year.
Picture shows Simon examining his farewell gift – an axe – with colleague and Home Bursar Andrew Beaumont, whose arboreal puns were no joak.
