Tour de Hertford bike ride
10 July 2015 - 12 July 2015
Celebrating the Tanner revolution
On 10 July we will be setting off on a 3-day adventure: cycling coast to coast, across Lancashire and Yorkshire, to celebrate the golden anniversary of Hertford’s unique and inclusive access programme.
Our bespoke route has been designed to suit all abilities. We will be sampling Tour de France climbs, exploring the Yorkshire dales and moors, and discovering the hidden beauties of the Forest of Bowland.
2015 marks the 50th anniversary of Neil Tanner’s revolutionary access scheme: Neil broke the mould by being the first to encourage students from grammar and comprehensive schools to study at Hertford. In his name, we will be raising money to continue his legacy of encouraging the very best students, regardless of their background, and supporting them throughout their time in Oxford.
