Graduate Fresher
We look forward to welcoming you to Hertford College. Once your conditions for entry have been fully satisfied, you will receive a formal letter and contract from the University. If you have not yet confirmed that you wish to accept your place, or returned a completed financial guarantee form, I should be grateful if you could do this as soon as possible.
Please find at the bottom of this page some information about Hertford and the University including some important 'Notes for Freshers' and several forms which you must complete. Please also see the main University website aimed at new students http://www.ox.ac.uk/current_students/information_for_new.html
For overseas students: Details of the International Student Advisory Service Orientation Programme and the ‘Meet & Greet’ service are to be found on the International Student University Website www.admin.ox.ac.uk/io. The Orientation Registration code is KA800065. Please note that all non EEA students should obtain a student visa before coming to the UK. Please refer to the UK Border Agency website to ensure that you meet the requirements for entry into the UK (www.ukvisas.gov.uk). Student visa letters are dealt with by your Department.
The University requires you to register on-line; details will be emailed directly to you, we would appreciate it if you would register swiftly. It is also important that you complete the College's online arrival form so that the necessary arrangements can be made. Please note that a number of induction meetings will be taking place during the week beginning 3rd October.
A welcome package, including your University Card, will be awaiting your arrival and we ask you to call at the College Office as early as convenient to collect it. Please bring a passport sized photograph with you for the College records. Overseas students will need to bring their passport and visa for scanning.
I very much look forward to meeting you and if you have any queries, please don't hesitate to get in touch with me.
With my best wishes,
Sue Finch

Feedback & Self Assessment
The College has devised a Tutorial Feedback form for Undergraduates to complete (anonymously, if they choose) to help them reflect on the term's teaching and to allow the College to monitor the quality of its teaching provision. The questionnaire is at the bottom of this page.
Graduates are able to write an account of their progress each term in the Graduate Supervision System- where their Supervisor, College Advisor, and Director of Graduate Studies also have the opportunity to write reports.
Any serious problems- academic or personal- should be talked over with tutors and, if appropriate, the This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or one of the Welfare team.
